My business brings me into contact with people all around the globe, and generally speaking, we never get a chance to meet one another face to face; yet important bonds are forged between author and editor, client and writer, and I have to say, that it is not only a source of real pleasure for me to connect with people the world over, it is also a source of pride. It means that I’m doing something right.

At least, I hope so.

I put a great deal of stock in what I would call virtual etiquette. If there are rules of civility that govern our daily lives in offices and other public places, then so too must our virtual spaces be governed by these same guiding principles.

For example: if your team leader said hello to you in the corridor or a colleague waved to you from across a room, would you ignore them by not responding? Of course not! If a client leaves a message on your cell phone or a friend writes a letter, you reply. If a customer asks you a question, you respond. The same goes for the virtual world of communications—it’s nice to be acknowledged.

I handle each incoming e-mail very much aware that a human being is behind the technology. Since they can’t see my face or hear my voice, it becomes ultra important to let them know that I received their message and read their query.

Conversely, I can’t hear or see them. I like to know that they have received the files, documents or e-mails that I sent. When you send an e-mail, it really is the high-tech equivalent of a message in a bottle. You hope that the bottle is retrieved at the other end, and read by friendly, sympathetic eyes.

I make the effort to respond to each e-mail individually. Sometimes it is necessary to read between the lines in order to answer properly. It takes some time, but it’s not impossible. The effort you make to respond to a person is rewarded many times over, believe me. It really is the first step to building trust. Yes, I do believe that you can build business trust in the realm of the virtual. I experience it every day.

How can a client feel they can trust me via bits of electronic data and pixels on a screen? It’s in the acknowledgement. A communiqué received, an explanation, a suggestion or an idea shared—in fact, every word chosen can help the other person know you are “there” and that you respect them.

So here are some (10) practical tips for building trust and a good working relationship across cyberspace:

Confirm receipt of documents.
Reply to every query.
If you don’t have enough time, let them know when you will reply at length.
Never presume and never speculate.
Ask questions and engage in an e-dialogue until you understand their needs.
Let clients/colleagues know when you will or will not be accessible.
Let clients/colleagues know when you can or cannot finish a task.
Keep everyone in a team project up to date and up to speed.
If you were expecting a document but did not receive it, follow up with a phone call.
Did I say, never presume? It bears repeating!

Web-based businesses are electronic entities. But we are all human beings behind the controls. We can decide how we choose to act and react in cyberspace just as we do in the rest of our lives. So, use technology for business—just remember there is a human on the other side of the screen, not just a keyboard. Be a high-tech humanist! It’s worth the effort. And it’s not just about social rules either. It’s about treating each other as people, first and foremost. The trust follows.

Before showing the importance of deep linking, perhaps an understanding of its nature will help us our quest.
Deep linking refers to links pointing to other places than the index page itself. Let’s take an example: a link to somesite.com will direct to the index page, while a link to somesite.com/somestuff/morestuff/neverknewthispageexisted.htm would be considered a [...]

Before showing the importance of deep linking, perhaps an understanding of its nature will help us our quest.

Deep linking refers to links pointing to other places than the index page itself. Let’s take an example: a link to somesite.com will direct to the index page, while a link to somesite.com/somestuff/morestuff/neverknewthispageexisted.htm would be considered a deep page and linking to it would be considered deep linking.

With the example fresh in our minds, you must understand that Google’s PageRank does not apply to the website as a whole but to each individual page. So when it comes to SEO (search engine optimization) and you focus only on the main page alone, you will potentially lose traffic. Another reason to pursue deep linking is also SEO related. It makes sense to optimize a page for only a few keywords, so you can more effectively build your own SEO campaign. This means that each page on your website would be targeting different keywords and each page would require a linking campaign.

Deep linking does not come without controversy though. This is especially true for large, popular websites. An online newspaper will frown upon on this practice, as it would potentially lose money from the ads posted on the front page. There are even a few lawsuits going on, on this topic. A darker version of deep linking is that associated with hacking. Many websites have a rather low security and many e-commerce that offer downloadable products only require knowing the link in order to download the e-book, mp3 or database. Obviously this comes as a result of faulty programming and bad security practices.

From the search engine point of view the situation stays slightly different. Google for example does not have any official policy, which left the SEO experts doing a lot of educated guessing. Among the most optimistic views is the one that sustains that deep linking actually builds the credibility of the website as a whole and thus creates a better SERP, the skeptics on the other hand think that deep linking is no more important for search engines than plain linking.

No matter of which side you think it’s right it only makes sense to develop deep linking even if for remote, long term goals. A good link remains a good link no matter if it points to a deep page or the index page.

Quickly and Easily submit your website to over 850 quality link directories, that could give you hundreds of one-way links. The program is so easy to use, that an 11 year old kid do the job. Give your website the search engine ranking boost it really needs and visit DirectoryLinkSubmitter.com DirectoryLinkSubmitter.com today!!

One of the most effective things I do with my email list is create responsiveness and relationship by sending out feedback letters. Basically what I do is write an email, use: “I need your help…” as my subject line, and then in the letter I tell the reader that I am preparing to write a book, or I am choosing article topics, or whatever it is that I am working on, and that I need their help. Then I ask them a few questions. After that, I close by telling them to hit ‘reply’ to the email to send me their questions or answers to mine.

This creates an incredible level of personalization. When they write you back, try to respond to them personally. Send them a thank-you gift. Many times I have noticed that after I have responded like that, the subscriber buys something from me. Coincidence? Possibly, but I doubt it. I think that people like the personal touch.

I will also do mass replies to this. Many of the replies are very similar in nature. In just about every niche, there are few things that people consistently have questions about. By replying in a group email, and indicating that I have received a pretty incredible response to my questions, and that I am answering the most common questions in a ‘mailbag’ style, I think that people get the feeling that I have a very responsive list, a community, almost, and then they feel more comfortable on my list and with me. And if they feel more comfortable, they buy more.

So here is a sample feedback email:

Subject line: (Name of subscriber) – I need your help

Body of email:

Dear (subscriber):

I am currently working on a new book in (your niche market) and want to make sure I address all you questions.

1) What do you most want to learn more about (your niche)?

2) What is the hardest thing you have found about (your niche)?

3) What is your next goal in (your niche)?

Thanks in advance for helping me out. Just hit ‘reply’ to this email and then answer your questions there.

To your success,

It may not be the easiest thing in the world to do, but if you can manage to hire a ghost writer who is half effective, your online fortunes can be dramatically transformed for the better.

That is if you hire a ghost writer who understands seo (search engine optimization) and how to use the best keyword phrases for your site to pull in masses of targeted traffic from popular search engines.

One of the big advantages of you getting to hire a ghost writer who understands the topic covered by your site intimately is that you will be able to allocate a lot of your time to other traffic-generating-success tips and methods. When you have the ghost writer fully concentrating their efforts on generating content based on good keyword phrases then it frees you up tremendously to closely examine other techniques an strategic moves that will help your site take off in a hurry.

This is the obvious reason why web masters who have managed to hire a good ghost writer for their sites have almost always had a major change in their fortunes for the better.

Content being what keeps visitors at a site and what makes the whole web go round, it is not really that surprising that the single action of going out to hire a ghost writer can make such a big impact on the success of a site.

I base many of my articles and newsletters on my own day to day experiences in the world of Internet marketing. Things that have happened to me. Emails I have received. Interactions I have had with customers, subscribers and other Internet marketers.

The more I work online, the more it becomes apparent to me that some people just don’t ‘get it’. What don’t they get? Well in my experience, many things but the ‘thing’ that someone didn’t ‘get’ this week was the benefit of marketing an affiliate product which has a recurring income element to it…..

One of my membership websites, SimplyWholesale, has an affiliate program which allows anyone to link to the site and earn 50% of any sales generated by their visitors. Nothing special here - millions of websites offer a similar deal. In addition, because one of the payment options offered by SimplyWholesale is a monthly subscription, my affiliates can also earn 50% of future monthly subscription payments made by a member who they introduce to the site. Again, nothing special here - many membership websites have the same arrangement.

So what’s the story?

Well, last week I received an email from an affiliate ‘complaining’ that he wasn’t earning enough money from his customers who were only signing up for the monthly subscription option. (A monthly membership is £4.99 so his earnings would have been £2.50 on each one). Now, this individual had been referring, on average, one new member to the site per day and the vast majority were opting for the monthly membership. The odd one here and there was paying for a yearly membership which generated a higher commission but the majority, as I say, were paying monthly.

So everyday for the past couple of weeks, this guy has earned £2.50 from having a single banner on his website. Assuming this continues for the next two weeks, he will have earned at least £77.50 for the month. Actually it will be more than this due to the annual subscriptions but let’s keep things simple

Ok, £77.50 isn’t a life-changing sum of money but let’s move things forward a month or two (and this is the bit that the guy clearly hadn’t thought of when he emailed me with his ‘complaint’)…..

Month two, assuming the level of sales continues, he will earn another £77.50 BUT he will also see an income from the second monthly subscription payments made by the members he referred to the site in month one. It is fair to assume that some members may cancel their subscriptions but to date we have a pretty low cancellation rate. Let’s work on the worse case scenario and say that 20% of his members cancel in month two - he will still earn over £60 from the renewals. Add that to the £77.50 from the new members and month two earnings are getting on for £140. Things are starting to look a little more interesting….

This isn’t just theory - let me back it up with some ‘real-life’ figures based on one of my actual affiliates….

This particular individual has one link to the SimplyWholesale site from one of his own sites and in the first month of being an affiliate, he earned £60.

Month two, daily sales continued and with renewal subscriptions, my affiliate earned £230.

Month three (the current month), this particular affiliate is on target to make over £400 in commission.

Each week this affiliate refers roughly the same number of new members to the site but look at how quickly the commission payments are growing each month.

The point of this article isn’t to try and persuade you all to sign up as affiliates for SimplyWholesale (although that would be great!) but to get you to think about the potential of small payments either for your own products or as an affiliate.

I have built several businesses around very low pricing structures and it works very well. I am also an affiliate for one or two low price products and some of these schemes have been sending me cheques for years even though I stopped promoting the actual product ages ago (the commissions are earned from customers who I referred years ago who are still using the site or service in question).

With online business costs so low, it doesn’t always have to be about the hundred dollar products and in fact, the ‘less than a tenner’ products can also be extremely lucrative….

It has become too easy and too cheap to find a web content writer who is located half-way across the world to write up some web content for your website these days that, frankly, it’s getting a bit boring for old hats like me. as I search for relevant keywords on the internet, chances are, I will see web content that are more like clones of each other, only one is either shorter, longer, worded differently, have a different byline or rearranged, that’s how tough it is to find original web content these days. And that’s because of only one reason.

…it’s easy to rearrange someone else’s words!

Trust me because this is sometimes what we do…guilty as charged. But that was before the web content industry has grown by so much, so, please give me that much chance to explain myself. Original web content was never quite so important because search engines don’t know how to differentiate them back in those days. As long as they are not identical, the search engines will pick up the web content and list them anyway.

One example of how the search engines have evolved is this. I have posted the same article in a website, in www.ezinearticle.com, www.wordpress.com and I have a link from my website leading to the original website. The tie is there but it’s really quite far off. But the amazing thing is that one fine day, www.google.com picked up on the duplicate content, reduced the ranking of the original website (from No.1 to NOTHING!), we went ballistic! What in the world went wrong? Hence, the start of our frantic search for our mistake…which were only guesses.

Apparently, www.google.com picked up on my relationship with the original website owner, tracked the link from the www.wordpress.com account (under my ownership but identity is hidden from public eye), back to www.ezinearticles.com and then…believed that we were duplicating content and that I was the owner of that website! AMAZING!

This kind of systematic link and web content tracking system was never there before therefore, web content writers were free to do whatever with the content that they came up with. That’s why I say that original web content is crucial to your website’s ranking…especially if you have high ranking on selected keywords. Be careful of the kind of content that you place in your website and in other servers because search engines have gotten so smart that they’ll find you.

So, even if you find a cheap and reliable web content writer these days, it’s important to let the web content writer know that you mean business when you say ORIGINAL. Because with search engines, there may not be a second chance.

With further development in technologies like cellular phones, instant messaging, PDA’s and mobile email, the world is becoming more personal. People identify better with actual people than with a business. They want to feel that there is a real human being on the other end that they are communicating with and not some generic business reply. The same applies to your email marketing campaign. Follow those quick tips on how to add personality to your email campaigns for maximum success!

Build Relationships Be sure to welcome any and all questions your customers may have. Having a separate email address for customer service is a great idea, but don’t let it turn generic. Send a reply from a qualified real person. Answer their question in full and ask if they have any more questions. Not replying to a customers email is an easy way to lose credibility. Answer your customers emails immediately!

Use A Real Person The reader will feel more comfortable reading a newsletter from an employee of the business rather than the business itself. Let this person send out the emails and inject their own personality as well as the collective personality of the business itself. This way, you don’t stray from the image of the company, but you also include that crucial human element.

Include Images Has your company had any recent outings, promotions or events? Did anyone take pictures of them? Include these in your newsletters with a brief description of what went on. Including these pictures can make your customers feel almost like family and much closer to the company.

Be Personal Remember that each person that receives your email newsletter is reading it by themselves. You are not projecting this letter onto a pull-down screen in a meeting room for a large group to read. Speak to the people as if you are speaking to them one on one, because you are. Think about how you would write the email if you were writing it to a friend. This can be tricky because you need to balance personality with a good business sense. It is important to find the thin line in that regard. Personality is an aspect that is too overlooked in a fast paced business world. With so many automated answering services and generic reply emails sent out, people crave personality. Don’t be afraid to put some personality into loyal-email.com” target=”_blank your email marketing campaigns and watch your business thrive!

If you’re like most people, you typically need some sort of guidance or instruction before you can be successful in performing a task. The same is true for visitors looking for information on your web site – you must provide them with appropriate directions and navigation in order for them to use your web site effectively.

Jakob Nielson, an authority on web site usability, design strategy, and user-centered methodology, has said that “Most sites have miserable information architectures that mirror the way the company internally thinks about the content and not the way users think about the content. Predictably, users ignore such unhelpful structure.”

Most of the time, users not only ignore bad navigation, they click off the site and move on to the next one, in hopes of finding whatever it is they are looking for.

Follow the Leader

It’s up to you to make sure that your web site leads visitors down the right path. Whether the goal is to make a sale, subscribe to something, fill out an inquiry form, or simply provide information, you need to guide your visitors by giving them intuitive, clear, and consistent navigation.

Good navigation should make it impossible for visitors to get lost. To help orient users, always provide them with a point of reference, and make it clear where they are in the site and how to get back. Avoid putting information more than 2 or 3 levels deep – you don’t want users to get buried 4 or 5 levels down in your site, since they may become frustrated or disoriented and just move on.

Consistency is also key in good navigation; don’t confuse your users by changing the navigation links on every page. Instead, consider using an overall menu structure, then adding sub-categories and links on individual web pages as necessary.

Think Like A User

The best way to design an effective navigation system is to think the way your users think, and anticipate the ways that they want to go. Users are typically very goal-driven; they are pretty focused on finding what they’re interested in, and tend to ignore the things that don’t apply to them. Give them a clear navigation system that lets them find what they’re looking for first – once they know they’re in the right place, they can look at the rest of the information on your site in more detail.

Designing a navigation system that looks really cool to you but ultimately sends your visitors clicking away in frustration is not good navigation. Good navigation accommodates the searching patterns and behaviors of your visitors, making it more likely that they will find what they want, and more likely that they will make a purchase.

If you want to have a professional business identity, one of the important tools you
must have are: your own website and email addresses.

Can you imagine doing business with someone who has no website or email that shows
the business name?

With the advancement of web hosting technology and the ease of use, any one can have their own website, domain name, and email that has their business name.

You can create unlimited number of email with your business name. All you need is get a web hosting account and register a domain name.

The web hosting account and the domain name can be registered in the same place. Most web hosting companies let you register a domain name.

Why you need a web hosting and domain name?
In order to have your own website, www name, and related emails, you must register a domain name and you need to get a web hosting account. The domain name registration lets you have a www.yourcompanyname.com.

And the web hosting account provides you a storage on a web server for your website files. Also, the web hosting company provides you with an email aliases and email storage for your email files.

You don’t have to have a website in order to create your email addresses with your web host. There are many web hosting companies on the Internet.

Once, you register a domain name and get a web hosting account, you can create your email addresses without even having a website. My first choice of web hosting is a Linux based web server with Cpanel control that enables the user modify all kinds of feature.

To create email accounts using Cpanel control panel, you log in through the main website address with /Cpanel added at the end of the domain name. Then you enter the user ID and password you receive from the web hosting account.

Now, you are at the Cpanel page, where you find about 40 icons, each has a specific function that you can use to add a function to the website.

On the top line of the control panel, you will find two icons named: “mail” and “webmail”.

The mail icon provide a menu called: “Mail Manager Main Menu”. This is where you can add delete, or modify an email account. Depending on the web hosting company, you can create a specific number of emails. Some let have 10, 100, or unlimited number of email accounts.

The Webmail is used to access the email accounts. Since each email account has a different user ID and password, the email will be private to each user.

In summary, in you can use your web hosting and domain name to create email accounts that match your business name without creating a website. You can create the website later.

Do you want your business to have more exposure without geographic limitation?
Do you want to look more like a professional business owner? If your answer is yes, then you must have a website. For more details, click this link ==> 4DaysWebsite.com 4DaysWebsite.com

Today’s most successful internet marketers are very familiar with squeeze pages.

They know that list building is the lifeline of online business and that traffic is the stool pigeon of unremarkable sales. It does take time and effort to build a targeted and responsive list, but if you have patience, the proper information and the proper tools, it can be done with relative ease. You just need to focus your attention on building your list instead of trying to make that first sale.

As you become accustomed to online marketing and begin to master the art of it, you will definitely relay to upcoming internet marketers the proven fact that “the money is in the ‘targeted’ list”. I emphasize the word targeted because I’ve noticed in my own online marketing endeavors that if you don’t have a targeted list, you don’t really have a business.

There are a few techniques used to grab hold of your visitor’s information in order to build this money-spinning list. One of the best methods is by utilizing a squeeze page with only one purpose - and that is to capture your visitors contact information. The squeeze page is different from using a pop-up or normal opt-in form because there is a pre-requisite. You don’t allow your visitor access to your website unless they give you their name and email address and sometimes, depending on your contact needs, other details such as a phone number, street address, etc.

It is a well documented fact that squeeze pages can produce a 20% to 40% opt-in rate on the total number of visitors to your site.

Here are a few things you can do to optimize your squeeze pages.

You should always provide a strong and juicy headline in order to entice your visitor into leaving their name and email address. You can use action phrases that influence them on a personal level such as “Send for my free 5 day e-recipe of The Amazing South Beach Diet” or something to that effect, depending upon what it is you are selling.

Make sure that you always give valuable, free information or software in order to “squeeze” your customers into joining your list.

In closing your offers, always make your visitor acutely aware of the fact that their information will be kept confidential. Here is where you will also let them know that by taking action and giving you their email address, they are giving you permission to follow-up with future offers.

After they sign up, include some bonuses by giving out freebies, downloads, and discounts. This will build a good rapport between you and your customer. Now, when you send your next email offer to your subscriber introducing a new product, they will be more responsive to it.

The email does the pre-selling. If you do well with all the basic components, you can go from a 1% conversion on an affiliate sales page to a 10% opt-in on your lead capture page. This lead capture page will also generate more and more backend sales if used properly. As I research and observe some the practices of today’s successful internet marketers, I find that list building and squeeze pages go hand in hand. The squeeze page is created to draw the focus and attention of your visitor to but one thing, - opt-in to your list for more information. Once they are on your list you will have the ability to follow-up with them on a later date and several times thereafter, year, after year, after year. This is how the most successful internet marketers build lifetime customers for their businesses and so should you.

This is a small investment in your business that will pay for itself over and over again in a very short period of time.

The sooner you begin, the sooner you will begin to build a real online business that will continue to grow.
