Probably the fastest and possibly easiest way to become successful online is by selling your own product. You can sell informational products or tangible products and either one can be quite profitable. Selling informational products has a distinct advantage over tangible ones.
Any money you make selling informational products is all yours. There are some credit card transaction fees involved, nothing of consequence. On the other hand tangible products involve more headaches. You have to purchase the product and store it. When you get an order, you have to package it and take it to the post office. You have to deal with breakage which creates disgruntled customers.
The most difficult feature of creating an e course or ebook product is having the right idea and doing it correctly. Not everyone can write, so that can be a big hurdle. The good news is there are people who write for a living. Now all you need is a good idea.
Once you decide what you’re going to sell, you need a website. Hosting fees are very reasonable and websites are getting easier to build all the time. A website is like your storefront so you’ll want to build something attractive. There is no need for distracting bells and whistles.
Next you’ll need an auto responder for collecting names and email addresses. It has been estimated that a sale doesn’t occur until after 7 visits. By having an auto responder you can have all your names on file and won’t lose those subscribers after one visit.
Naturally, you won’t be able to sell any products unless you are able to bring traffic to your site. There are various ways to do this, by building good content, article writing, pay per click advertising, using the classifieds or ezines, and others.
So it is quite possible to create your own product online and become very successful. Keep in mind this is not a simple feat. If that were the case everyone would be doing it. After you find a product and build a site, that is when the real work starts. If you have a day job that is mentally challenging, it won’t hold a candle to building a business on the internet. But if you do it right you’ve got it made.
